Great Divide Ski Area is committed to providing persons with qualifying disabilities full and equal enjoyment of its goods, services, facilities, privileges, advantages, and accommodations. We recognize that no policy can address every possible scenario or every individual’s specific needs.

Adaptive Equipment Policy

Great Divide requires 72 hours’ advance notice for approval of all adaptive devices to ensure proper safety evaluations and accommodations.

If you plan to use an adaptive device—including but not limited to bi-skis, outriggers, sit-skis, or any other specialized equipment—please contact us at least 72 hours prior to arrival for approval at:
📧 Email: travis@skigd.com
📞 Phone: (406) 449-3746

Individuals using adaptive equipment must be able to safely load and unload lifts, either independently or with the assistance of a companion.

Prohibited Devices

The following devices are not permitted on the slopes due to safety concerns, including the ability to maintain directional and speed control as required by Your Responsibility Code and Montana State Law:

  • Plastic snowboards
  • Boot skis
  • Ski bobs
  • Snow scoots
  • Toboggans
  • Sleds
  • Platters
  • Inner tubes
  • Body sleds
  • Airboards
  • Kayaks
  • Hang gliders
  • Snow Bikes

Great Divide reserves the right to disallow other devices not listed if they are determined to present a safety concern for users on allowed devices.

Power-Driven Devices

Great Divide Ski Area has determined that the use of any power-driven devices or vehicles, including power-driven mobility devices used by persons with disabilities, would conflict with ski resort safety requirements necessary for the safe operation of on-slope activities.

These concerns include the risk of collisions with downhill skiers and snowboarders.

Power-driven mobility devices are permitted in the parking lot and base area, where foot traffic is allowed.

These safety requirements are based on actual risks and are not intended to be discriminatory in any way.
