Great Divide Ski Area, home to one of the largest rental fleets in Montana, is looking for a dynamic Rental Shop Manager to join our team. This year-round role offers the opportunity to lead a thriving rental shop operation while ensuring our guests have an exceptional experience. Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of the rental shop, including staffing, training, scheduling, and daily operations.
- Lead and motivate a team to provide outstanding customer service in a fast-paced environment.
- Manage and maintain our extensive rental fleet, ensuring equipment is safe, functional, and well-organized.
- Create and implement efficient systems for inventory management, repairs, and guest flow.
- Ensure guests of all skill levels are fitted with the right equipment for their needs.
- Collaborate with other departments to support overall mountain operations and enhance the guest experience.
Requirements
- Previous rental shop or ski industry experience is strongly preferred.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing and training a team.

Maintain and operate machinery involved in the operation of the ski slopes and trails, parking lots and roadways.

Line Cook
- Responsible for grilling and frying various items on the Great Divide Menu
- Maintain clean workspace

Pro-Patrol / Dispatcher
- Respond to emergency calls.
- Administer emergency care to injured skiers and snowboarders.
- Patrol across the mountain regularly, ensuring trails are properly marked and safe.
- Identify and correct potential skiing hazards.
- Search for missing persons and equipment
- Transport skiers/snowboarders down the mountain as needed.
- Run radio dispatch as needed.
- Stop reckless skiers/snowboarders and enforce skiing safety policies.
- Answer questions and give directions to skiers/snowboarders.
- Assist with Lift Operations as needed.
- Perform start-of-day opening procedures and checks ensuring mountain is ready for daily operation.
- Perform end-of-day closing sweep operations.

Here at Great Divide we teach nearly 8,000 lessons each season! We need a group of fun, friendly and caring people who want to share the joy of skiing and snowboarding with the community, especially children.
Candidates must be able to ski and/or snowboard at least at an intermediate level.

Previous teaching experience and/or PSIA/AASI certification is helpful, but not required.

New Instructors must attend and complete training program before being assigned to teach lessons for compensation.

Lift Operators
- Operates the lifts in a safe manner providing the best possible experience for the guests.
- Assists guests on and off lifts; instructs guests in the proper use of lifts.
- Maintain safe load and unload areas
- Assist with ticket checking, crowd control, litter control, and other duties as assigned.
- Must be able to work outdoors in various winter (often extreme) weather conditions.
- Previous outdoor winter work experience is helpful.
- Ability to ski or snowboard is very helpful, but not necessary.
- Must be able to upload and download on lifts without using skis or snowboard.
- Comprehensive training program provided.
Must work weekends. Weekday shifts available as well.
Pay Range: $13 – $16/hour.

Great Divide Ski Area is a community-based ski area located less than 30 miles northwest of Helena. It boasts 1,500 acres of skiing, 5 chairlifts, one rope tow, and six terrain parks. Job Description
Great Divide Ski Area is known for its innovative and cutting-edge Terrain Parks, setting the standard for Freestyle Parks in Montana. We are looking for an experienced and passionate individual to carry on our tradition of creating top-tier park experiences. This is your opportunity to lead the charge in maintaining and improving Great Divide’s Freestyle Parks, bringing your creativity and expertise to the slopes.
The Terrain Park Supervisor is responsible for managing the terrain park staff, overseeing the construction, maintenance, and safety of terrain park features, and supporting the Mountain Maintenance department in an efficient and hands-on manner. This role requires an individual who can manage the daily operation of the park, including guest interaction, equipment maintenance, and risk management, while fostering a safe and engaging environment for all park users.
Essential Job Functions
Park Operations & Maintenance:
- Design, build, maintain, and inspect terrain park features such as jumps, rails, boxes, and freestyle elements.
- Ensure all features are safe, properly maintained, and operate efficiently by performing daily pre-start, in-operation, and post-operation checks.
- Open, close, and monitor the park as needed, ensuring safety protocols such as fencing, rope lines, and signage are implemented.
- Shovel snow for extended periods to maintain park features, walkways, and guest access points.
- Operate equipment including snowcats, snowmobiles, and hand tools to construct and maintain park elements.
Safety & Risk Management:
- Oversee safety measures in the terrain park, including risk management practices and rule enforcement.
- Train and supervise terrain park personnel on risk management and proper feature maintenance procedures.
- Respond promptly to incidents, working closely with ski patrol to assess and mitigate hazards.
- Ensure that equipment and features are inspected daily for safety and that all operations comply with Great Divide and industry safety standards.
Team Leadership:
- Hire, train, and supervise terrain park staff, providing clear expectations and guidance.
- Schedule shifts and ensure adequate staff coverage based on operational needs.
- Maintain a positive and proactive team environment, fostering collaboration and enthusiasm.
Collaboration & Support:
- Work closely with the Mountain Manager to determine park priorities and implement improvement strategies.
- Support snowmaking operations as needed, including positioning snowmaking equipment, maintaining hoses, and marking areas around snowmaking systems.
- Communicate regularly with other departments, including snow grooming and guest services, to ensure seamless park operation.
- Attend regular Operations meetings and provide feedback on park conditions and guest satisfaction.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Previous experience in terrain park operations, including feature building and park safety management.
- Strong understanding of risk management principles and safety protocols.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions for extended periods, often in wet, cold, and quickly changing environments.
- Excellent communication and guest service skills.
- Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. and perform physically strenuous activities.
Preferred:
- Advanced freestyle skiing/snowboarding ability and the capacity to ski/ride between terrain parks.
- Experience with welding, fabrication, woodworking, and painting skills.
- Previous Snowcat Operating Experience
- Knowledge of snowmaking operations and equipment handling.
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
- Ability to stand, kneel, crouch, and shovel snow for long periods.
- Exposure to winter conditions requiring protective apparel/equipment.
- Capable of performing strenuous physical activity, including lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
- Available to work long hours, weekends, and holidays based on operational needs.
Supervision:
- Supervision Given: Responsible for hiring, training, and managing Terrain Park staff.
- Supervision Received: Works under the supervision of the Mountain Manager, with clear direction and weekly check-ins

Custodian
The Custodian position is responsible for cleaning and maintaining the lodge on a daily basis. Custodial staff must be self-motivated and capable of handling physical demands. Tasks include sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning of public restrooms, stocking bathroom paper goods, garbage removal, and any other necessary task to ensure the lodge is ready for the next day. Hours flexible based on the operating schedule of the mountain, with expectation of lodge being cleaned by 7am each day.
Wage: $15/hour
