- Hi All....Here is our early September update!
Snowfall expected here tonight (Our 3rd already last few weeks).
Season Equipment Leases......Lots of new equipment already in and over 1000 sets tuned, tested, waxed and ready to rent! Our shop is now open every Sunday from 10am to 5pm for equipment leases, Season Pass Pictures and Half-Price Passports. FREE bright yellow SKI.GD or RIDE.Great Divide t-shirt with every season lease package! Hurry, quantities and sizes may become limited.
We've had 3 consecutive record seasons at Great Divide....Since June 1st we have spent $400,000 on ski area improvements....Our way of saying thank you for your continuing and growing affinity with the Great Divide SnowSports scene! Our new brochure / trail map has not yet gone to print, but you can read the draft copy in the attachment above. Rates, calendar, programs, events etc.
Firewood....Still about 800 cords available for pick up. We've cut the trees, limbed & topped them and cut into 3' sections that are easy to carry to your truck. Just get a $20 federal firewood permit at Capital Sports and give me a call so I can show you where to go (bring gloves). We need to get this wood out soon so we can complete our trail clean-up for ski season. Kevin 439.8742.
BackYard Learning Center.....All complete and currently full of new skis and boots for seasonal lease.
Mount Belmont Chairlift Gearboxes....Back from Canada, all re-worked and ready for another 20 years of service. Complete with an attractive and functional new roof structure over the drive terminal.
Good Luck Chairlift Rebuild....New Italian wire rope on-site to be installed next week. New Motor in place. New speed-control Variable Frequency Drive installed. Expect to load test this rebuilt lift in early October!
Mount Belmont Summit Ski Patrol Hut....This much needed new structure with amazing views is being built by our Volunteer Ski Patrol. Nice summit warming hut....Public welcome.
ROWDY Terrain Park....Terrific new Park in terrain not previously utilized on the Meadow Mountain Chairlift. No rails or boxes....just fun and easy rollers, bumps and tiny jumps in the snow...Great for kids!
25 New Park Features....Lots of steel, lots of wood, lots of snow....Now a total of 81 features when all 5 parks are totally open.
New Park Cat....Our intensive snowmaking and park building puts a strain on these big machines, so we've traded up to a newer / stronger machine to lead our 3-cat fleet.
Lights on Meadow / Boomerang!....We did it....we lit up the Meadow, RUCKUS & ROWDY Parks, and Boomerang. Now we'll have more trails, more acres, and all 5 Parks for our very popular Friday Night Skiing....And we're adding Saturday nights too!
Wide Open Wild West.....Thanks to the pine beetle we've created about 300 more acres of Great Glades in Wild West. Wind exposure is a concern, but we think in the big picture this is going to be some fantastic skiing and riding.
